As close as we could get to the White House. A short while later, three helicopters flew over. One had the president in it.
The Washington Monument againWell, we had a very nice trip to D.C. It was soooo exhausting. The amount of walking that you do to see all the monuments is crazy. The kids really enjoyed riding the metro. Our hotel was a great location. A block from Union Station, which is where you catch the train to ride their underground subway to where you want to go. (Just in case some of you haven't experienced that.) Like three blocks from the Capitol Building and all the court buildings. All in all it was pretty great, just really exhausting.
