Winter Fun!!

We had about 10 inches of snow today, so what better thing to do than go play in it, right?! The boys had a good time, Hunter especially. Mason liked the snow but hated having to wear mittens. We spent a little while outside and then came in for some hot cocoa and a snack. It was fun knowing that there was absolutely no reason to leave the house and lazing around was the thing to do today. After Ken came home from school he and Hunter went out and played some more. They made about 5 "snowmen" (actually they were mounds of unpackable snow, but it was cute) We are expecting another storm this weekend, so hopefully I can still make it to work.

Missing home

Sorry, it's been a while. Our camera is in need of some TLC and there really hasn't been anything exciting happening to take pictures of anyways. I am pretty sad lately with the holidays and no family around. I know the boys are bored too and I wish we had the cousins nearby to play with. I heard all you girls got together and made the Christmas cookies. I did too, all by myself. I don't remember it being such a huge pain in the ass as it was. Maybe having helpers is what makes it so fun. I am so excited to have mom coming up in January. I'm sure she's pretty excited too. I should know a little more about that by the end of the week. Well, not much going on around here, just work and bills and more work. I love and miss you all!!

We finally see New York

Times Square
The underside view of an amzing crystal chandalier at Rockefeller Center
Skaters at Rockefeller Center
I'm sad cuz Hunter is to busy watching the giant M&M TV screen outside the window to pose with me
Ken is very excited
Don't mind the ugly green hat. My ears were cold

At M&M World in Times Square

I was most excited to see the Olive Garden. I am a dork.

So, as you can see, we finally made a trip to NYC. I had to go to New Jersey for an egg donor thing, so being so close to the city, we had to go. It was funny because as soon as we crossed the Lincoln Tunnel, we didn't know what to do or where to go, so we parked at a garage and decided we'd get a map. We didn't even need to. Two blocks up and one block over, we realize we are standing in Times Square. It was so amazing. Traffic was insane, pedestrians never losing a stride as they jet out into traffic. The honking was quite amusing as was seeing the drivers of the buses swearing at all the people walking in front of the bus. I held onto Hunter's hand for dear life. We went into the M&M store and Hershey's store. I bought a souvenir teacup to add to my others and Ken got a painting from a street vendor. It was very cool. We walked around Rockefeller Center and saw the Christmas tree, though it was not yet lit(the 28th) and the skating rink that you see in all the movies. We had dinner at the Olive Garden. I've always heard how amazing the OG is in NY so I had to go. It has multi levels. WOW!!!! Yeah, I'm a nerd. And then we left for the long drive home. Thanks Ken for driving and not making me stay awake. I was pooped. There will definitely be another NYC trip planned as soon as possible.

Catching up

It's been a while. There is not much going on in our lives right now. Ken is super busy with school. I can't believe it's almost finals time. Time sure does fly. We'll be home before we know it. For me, work is stupid as ever. I was thinking of looking for a new job, but I'm comfortable at Olive Garden. I'll just have to deal with the fact that "I'm not good enough for management" and go to school eventually. If we were living in Washington I could have started school already. The state of Massachusetts really sucks when it comes to aide for low income families. The holidays are coming up quickly. What are the family plans? I wish we could be there, but my bestest friend over here has invited us to spend Thanksgiving with her family and I am so grateful. I love her. They live in Rhode Island, so that will be another state to mark on the map. Well, I'm gonna eat some chocolate and then go to bed.

Hunter's birthday

So unfortunately, Hunter's birthday was kinda lame. As I was telling Melanie, I underestimated my four year old, thinking he wouldn't know the difference between a party with friends or just hanging out with the family. He definitely noticed. I felt so bad. All day he kept making references to the "party" and "everyone will be there". I felt absolutely awful. You can bet I will never underestimate my kids ever again. He was very excited about his Diego bike and Mason too. Mason likes to try to ride it, but he can't climb up. After his birthday, Ken took Hunter to spend some of the birthday money that was sent to him and he got a cool Black and Decker tool bench. It's pretty awesome. Who knows, maybe he'll grow up to be a carpenter and be handy like his grandpa (Ken Sr.) I'll get some video hopefully soon of him playing with the tools.

My Halloween Party

A friend of mine from work had a Halloween party this past weekend. Lynanne and I went as Hooters Girls. Considering I already had the costume, it didn't cost us anything. It was funny watching all the guys reactions to our outfits. Keep in mind they usually see us in black slacks, button shirt and tie. These boys were in heaven. It was fun getting back in the uniform again. I put the Adam and Eve picture up (That is Dara and Jesse) because I just thought their costumes were so funny.

Another warm Halloween

Oops, I forgot to rotate these. Sorry!!

Hunter is hoarding all the lollipops

So we got lucky with another fairly warm Halloween. It makes trick or treating so much more fun when you're not freezing. How funny that we are home now, it's 9 o'clock and all our family back home is probably just getting started. We were just about to leave the house to go trick or treating and Ken went outside to find a little boy had smashed all our pumpkins. What a little bastard. That was actually before we even had a single trick or treater. Well. Ken chased him off, but I'm sure he went around and destroyed more property. That's the price you pay for living in the ghetto. I sure wish we were around all the fam. I'm really jealous we weren't able to go to the Halloween party. Miss and love you all!!
